One of my larger paintings, created for solo show at MIdoma Gallery on Upper East Side...now in its official new home. I think it looks happy there. :)

Go Dain Go!

Yeah I miss being part of the Brooklyn street art scene.  But it's part of me and my own art and inspiration wherever I go.  Just wanted to bookmark and share this inspiring show with you all.  One of the other photos in the article showed some 40s apartment decor (wallpaper, lamp, couch) that Dain set up to go along with the pieces.  So awesome.

Rain for Dain but everything is Copesetic: Brooklynite Gallery opens with first Solo Show of Street Artist Dain

Saturday’s show hinged itself on the theme of 1940’s glamour in old Brooklyn, and the gallery was quite literally transformed into a middle class apartment with flourishes and pitch-perfect detail enough to make you think that maybe it always looks like this.

Eat Your Circuitry

I actually saw this on flickr months ago, but i was just going through my old comments to see if i'd missed anything and was amazed and entertained by it all over again.

555 LED flasher (second view) by oskay.
Full circuit. The resistor values are 100 k (x2), and a 1 uF Nilla wafer ceramic cap. The LED load resistor is 330 ohms. (orange-orage-black-gold) The wires that are used here are the berry Twizzler strips. Note how cleanly they can be spliced by cutting them at 45 degrees and sticking them together!

edie for alice

This is a piece I just found out I sold from the Younity “Fresher” group show this month. ) I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to personally attend, because the Younity shows are always one of my favorite shows of the whole year. And it’s such an honor to be part of that collective and have the opportunity to participate in shows with so many amazing woman artists.

Blame Truffles

Maybe it's because I was up til 6:30am this morning doing really tedious and nerdy stuff.  Maybe it's because I haven't had enough coffee today.  And also I'm debating not smoking any cigarettes today.  In any case, I couldn't have any less respect for psychiatry than I do at this precise moment.  Kthxbye.

One More Cool Thing About Las Vegas

I keep checking out Las Vegas websites and attractions, looking for my condo, figuring out what kinds of fun things I'll want to do once I'm officially moved there.  Found this last night.  I'm so going there!  Everything is made of ice, even the glasses your drinks are served in.  You can even get custom ice sculptures, business logos or whatever you want for your own private party.
